I strongly agree that violence can solve problems and feuds between people. One reason is because wars have solved problems with other countries like in Vietnam we stopped the Communism and in WWII we stopped Adolf HItler from overtaking the world. One other reason is a movie called "Boondock Saints," in this movie the main characters kill the Mafia that are causing trouble and commiting crimes around the city.
ReplyDeleteJuliet and Romeo solved the family feud when they killed themselves because the families didn't want it to happen again.
Delete(Violence can solve problems) I think this is very true because sometimes that is the only way to solve the problem. Most people see violence as a bad thing and is some cases people take it to far but it will always be here. Romeo didn't want to fight Tybolt and look what happened his friend got killed. Most people in todays world will stand up for themselves but back then fighting was forbidden. So there are two sides of violence the bad and the good it is used for more bad than good.
ReplyDeleteFor the parents having the option for whom you date, I strongly disagree.
ReplyDeleteI disagree because they aren't the people that are going to be being with that person and dating that person.
The people that had their parents choose who they marry, are usually sad and not happy with their lives. In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet's parents want Juliet to marry Paris, she doesn't want to marry Paris, she likes and wants to be with someone else. Juliet's parents are just doing it, so they can be richer and more popular to others.
The first example tells how people that have arranged marriages or told who they can and cannot date aren't as happy as the people who find someone that they like and want to be with. The second example explains that Juliet did not want to be with Paris, not even for the money and nicer things. She loved someone else and wanted to be with him even though he wasn't as rich and and didn't have as nice things as Paris.
Suicide is never a reasonable option. I strongly agree because even if your true love dies you don't need to kill yourself. Everything happens for a reason, so maybe you are meant to be with someone else. There was a reason Juliet had a plan to "die" and that was to wake up and be with Romeo. Romeo just didn't know that. Our neighbor lady had a husband and he died, but she found a different one and now they are very happy. Both show that just because you think your life is over is isn't. They both support my opinion because suicide is not the option maybe there is something better waiting for you.
ReplyDeleteI chose the statement "love at first sight is possible". I don't think love at first sight is possible. I don't think you can love someone by just looking at them. You have to know someone in order to love them. By just looking at Juliet, Romeo had loved her, but he didn't know her. Romeo loved Juliet's looks. I don't think Romeo really loved Juliet. Romeo and Juliet got married just after a few days of knowing each other, and they barley knew each other. Many people who don't know each other and jump into relationships and get married, get divorced. That's why you shouldn't jump into relationships.
ReplyDeleteI choose "There are Times when secrets must be told". I gave this topic a 10 in I strongly agree; because Juliet and Romeo kept in a secret from their family and friends about their relationship and because of that the family doesn't know why the two love birds killed themselves; the Family might have an idea of what might of happened but only Juliet and Romeo would know why both of them choose to be together like that. That is why it is a good reason to share the secrets, it makes your life a whole lot easier knowing that burden can be lifted off your chest and you can finally breath.
ReplyDeleteTeenage love is real love. I strongly disagree with this statement. I believe that a lot to do with love is maturity and that is just something that takes time. Most teenagers do not have a high enough maturity level to actually love somebody. They may think they do when in reality, they don't have a clue. For an example, it is very rare that people that date in high school or as a teenager end up getting married, having kids and spending the rest of their lives together. Usually you find someone when you are more older and mature. An example from the play is that one day Romeo was crying over a girl that didn't like him back and then as soon as he saw Juliet he was fine. Real love doesn't just get replaced at the blink of an eye. Both examples show very low levels of immaturity and not really knowing what love is really about. Maturity comes with time so be patient and don't rush life.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree that you are the pilot of your own life. That there is no greater force determining your outcome. You determine your own outcome in life, because you and the choices you make and your attitude determine your own outcome in life, no one else does. No body can tell you how to live your life, you decide that on your own. There may be obstacles along the way and the way you choose to deal with them, determine what kind of person you are.
ReplyDelete"You are the pilot of your own life. There is no greater force determining your outcome. You determine your own outcome." I strongly disagree with this statement because God ultimately chooses what you do. He is the driver of the car, you're just along for the ride. For example, you don't know when you'll get married, have children, or die: only he knows. In "Romeo and Juliet", God had it planned that Romeo would go to the Capulet ball and meet Juliet. He already knew what was going to happen. Everything that happens, is planned by the man upstairs. You don't know what's going to happen in your life. Today could be your last day on Earth, but you don't know. God has a plan for you, and you can't change that.
ReplyDeleteViolence can solve problems.
ReplyDeleteI chose this topic because Romeo and Juliet killed themselves after their parents would not allow them to be together. Like them the world has solved several problems with violence. The wars that have been fought and the people that have been killed durning them are remembered for their acts in the war. The Montagues and the Capulet were in their own war and violence ended it with Rome and Juliet killing themselves. The violence between the two has been to much for the town and that was resolved to an ended in the feud.
There are times when secrets must be told. I totally agree that sometimes secrets must be told. If you know a secret about somebody else, and you feel like they will harm themselves or someone else you need to tell. Sure, they told you not to tell anybody, but you need to say something, otherwise bad things will happen. In the play, Friar knew that Romeo and Juliet were married, and that Juliet was not actually dead, but he did not say anything until it was to late. Romeo and Juliet had already committed suicide by the time that Friar spoke up. In real-life some people tell their plans of suicide to other people. The people that they tell sometimes speak up, but most of the time they don't, and people die. In both of my example somebody knew about the "secret" and they didn't say anything, and people died. They needed to tell the secrets that they knew, but they choose not to, and these were times that secrets needed to be told.
ReplyDeleteI somewhat disagree about the statement that says Love at first sight is possible. You can't just fall in love with someone by their looks. They might look attractive and draw your attention but just because they look attractive doesn't mean they have a nice personality. Almost when all humanes see another attractive human they think they are in love even though they don't know what that person's personality is like. They are in love with the person's looks. In Romeo and Juliet Romeo fell in love with Juliet's looks. He thought he was in love with her even though he was in love with her looks. Romeo barley knew Juliet. People don't actually love at first sight. They fall in love with looks.
ReplyDeleteEveryone tells secrets. I think some secrets have to be told in order to protect the people you love. Even if it does mean breaking that relationship that you have with that person. If someone you knew was being bullied and you knew about it and no one else did. Would you tell someone or keep it to yourself? You promised you wouldn't tell. What if that person committed suicide, you could have done something about it but you didn't tell anyone. As for the play I think that Juliet and Romeo should have told their families but because they didn't their love has to be a secret.
ReplyDeleteThese both show that telling the truth may be harder but its always worth it in the end. You will have a big burden lifted off your shoulders if you tell someone.
Violence can never solve problems, it just makes situations worse. In Romeo and Juliet violence didn't solve anything. Romeo was known as a very loyal and friendly guy from the Capulets, but once he started fighting and killed Tybalt, he no longer had that trust that he did before from them. Violence caused Romeo and Juliet to be separated not just because they weren't part of the same family, but because Romeo killed Juliet's cousin and now Romeo had to leave the city and if he was found back in Verona then he would be killed. The Columbine High School Massacre was a school shooting that was very violent. Many people were murdered and bombs were set off. This violence didn't solve anything that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were angered about. It just caused a huge mess, just like Romeo and Juliet. Violence can never solve problems, it just causes a huge riot and leaves a huge mess at the end.
ReplyDeleteSuicide is never a reasonable option. I strongly agree because you should never even think about suicide. There is always somebody that you can come talk to because more then likely they can get you help and prevent you from possible killing yourself your even hurting your self. So always think before you do because once you do it there is no going back. For example if your in love with your boyfriend and he decides to leave you that's his lost not yours because he is the one that made the wrong decision don't get frustrated about it and do something you will regret. My examples are showing that never do something that you will regret because you had a option to get help so before you go do something think before you do because it's not worth taking your life and hurting others because of what you did to yourself because there will always be somebody willing to help you.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree that there are times when secrets must be told. I believe this because secrets are never a good thing and if someone is in danger of their life or anything someone needs to know so that they can get help. For example if your friend tells you that he or she is getting abused at home but not to tell anyone you need to tell someone for their safety. If you didn't tell anyone and they ended up dying or very hurt you would feel so guilty because you didn't tell anyone. Also in Romeo and Juliet, they both never told anyone about their feelings for each other and it ended up in death. All of theses examples are prime examples of how secrets are dangerous because no one told anyone and it resulted in bad situations.
ReplyDelete"Love at first sight is possible." Heck no! There is no such thing as love at first sight! Theres infatuation at first looks though! You can't fall in love with someone if you're only looking at them. You learn nothing about them if they aren't even talking to you, and if you learn nothing about them, how do you love them. You're falling in love with there looks, not there personality.
ReplyDeleteI somewhat agree and disagree with the statement that teenage love is real. I agree beacuse some people find their match as a teen. While I also disagree because how do you really know what love is at such a young age.My real life example how my brother married his highschool sweet heart .Now I have 3 grown up nieces and nephews. My play example is Romeo obvisiously doesn't know what love is if he bounced from one girl to another in one day.My real life example proves that teenager love can be real love and my play example proves teenage love can be fake and misunderstood.
ReplyDeleteViolence can solve problems. I strongly disagree with this because violence causes more problems a lot of the time. When violence is brought into the situation the people involved will have a harder time getting along after it. Compromise is the better solution to a problem. For example when the civil rights movement was going on people learned that fighting back usually got them hurt worse. Also in Romeo and Juliet when Romeo killed Tybalt it didn't salve any of the problems, it fueled the fire even more between the families. These prove that violence causes more problems that it solves because it made a feud worse and hurt people worse then if the situation would have been solved with a compromise or another problem-solving technique. Violence doesn't solve problems it either makes them worse or doesn't change them at all. Things should not be settled with violence.
ReplyDeleteI strongly disagree that your parents should have the final say in whom you date. I believe that everyone should have a free choice in who they love. Your parents can have an opinion about it but can not force you to date someone. In places like India the girls have no choice but to marry who their parents want them to. These women normally get married off to someone who is much older than them and who doesn't take very good care of them. In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet's parents were trying to arrange her marriage with Tybalt, even though Juliet did not want it. This led to Juliet taking the potion that made her appear dead to her family. When parents arrange marriages for their children most of the time it does not work out like the examples above. Many times it leads to problems like abuse or even death. With that being said I feel that parents should not have the final say in whom you date because it is your choice with who you are going to love.
ReplyDeleteI agree that suicide is never a reasonable option. People usually commit suicide because they are currently going through tough times. I believe that suicide isn't a reasonable option because over time things will get better. On the news a while ago I heard about a teenager who committed suicide because they were being bullied at school. In Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet killed themselves so that they could be together. Both of these show that over time things could have gotten better. The teenager on the news would have graduated from high school and probably have never seen those people again, or they could have went to a different school. In Romeo and Juliet if Romeo would have waited he would have found out that things do get better over time because Juliet would have been awake and they could have been together. Suicide isn't a reasonable option because over time things will get better.
ReplyDeleteViolence can solve problems in peoples lives because they are not the smart thing to do but they can some times solve problems. The problems in life some times can be solved by violence but than again some times it can not be solved in life by problems and feelings other people have in life to make them do things in life that are not the right thing to do.
ReplyDeleteCan violence solve problems? I strongly disagree because it can cause more people to be brought into it or else the affect of the out came can hurt many people. An example of the outcome is just like when there is a school shooting. A lot of kids are hurt or worst killed then the families have to got threw with hospital bills or a funeral for the son or daughter. This last year there were 194 kids killed in school shootings. In the play of Romeo and Juliet if there wasn`t any violence Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio , Tybalt and Paris would all be alive in th eend instead of being dead in the capulet`s family tomb. All of these examples are all pointing to that violence isn`t the key to solving problems but peacefully is the way to go to solve problems
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree that there are times when secrets must be told. I agree with this because it is better when everyone knows. When everyone knows it will be harder to make a mistake. In Romeo and Juliet it was a secret that the two teenagers were married. Since no one knew this they both died to save themselves from risking their marriage. In real life if your family or friends don't know that your hurt they can't help you. You need the all the help you can get and so if they don't know it's not doing you any good to keep it a secret. Also keeping other things untold can end up hurting other people, too. So, it mostly helps everyone when there are no secrets and that's why I agree that there are times when secrets must be told.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Violence can solve problems because when two people are faced with a difficult situation sometimes the thing that they will do is fight it out. They do this because neither one of them wants to admit he is wrong or look week. When the U.S. fought back against Al Queda there hasn't been near as many attacks on our country. Which has resulted in less casualties here in the United States. In Romeo and Juliet Romeo won't fight against Tybalt so Mercutio stands up for him which result in Mercutio dying for Romeo. This shows violence can solve problems because if Romeo would've fought Tybalt in the first place Mercutio wouldn't have died. That is how violence can be a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI agree that violence can solve problems, because sometimes that is the only way to deal with a problem. such as war, we had to use war to become free and to help other people. But sometimes if you dont need it than it can be a bad thing. And in the play when Romeo killed Tablet was because he had killed his best friend. And he may not of stopped killing people including romeo. This works to show that a little bit of violence can stop people from hurting others and even save lives. I believe that if violence is used in the right way it can help people as long as it is used properly.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree that you are the pilot of your own life because your the one who makes the decisions and your the one who decides on the actions you make and they may effect your future. You can make good or bad choices there is not in between. You want to be smart about what you decide to do when it comes to a decision because you may regret it in the future. No one is forcing you to make the decision you do because you have a right to say no if you think that it may effect you later on. If you make a mistake and choose to do something and you know you will regret it later on then learn from that mistake and make sure you don't let it happen again. We all make mistakes but not all of us learn from them. Make sure you think about what you do and how its going to effect you later on when making a decision.
ReplyDeletesuicide is never the option. You might think thats the only option at the moment, but it never is. There might be some hard times but you need to fight through them you just can't kill yourself. You just have to hold in there and wait it will get better for you, just keep your head up and strong.
ReplyDeleteThe reason why you need to keep your head up is to fight through it and later on it will help you out in the long run. Which that's why I strongly agree with suicide is never the choice. Thats why you need to keep your head up through the rough times.
I chose the statement that states There are times when secrets must be told. I strongly agree with this, because some secrets that if you keep them it could hurt someone, like in the case of Rome and Juliet nobody said anything about their relationship which lead to them committing suicide. This could be the same case with somebody else, like if your friend tells you they are thinking about committing suicide, it would be in the best interest of everyone to tell someone, so you wouldn't lose a friend and they wouldn't lose their life over something that could probably be fixed. There are some secrets that shouldn't be told, like when your friend tells you they have a crush on someone. That would be a secret you would want to keep or if they tell you they some other petty secret those are the kinds of secrets you would want to keep, so you can keep their trust. Therefore some secrets need to be told while others are best not to be told.
ReplyDeleteViolence can solve problems. I strongly disagree, because violence leads to more violence and causes problems for others. After you use violence to try and solve problems, others will start thinking that it's okay to use violence to fix their problems and it's not okay. For example, in real life, back in the 1800s, white people used African Americans for slavery. The white people thought it would help them not do any of their own work. Therefore, it was one of the reasons that led into the Civil War, which was violence. The Civil War, as many others have, has led into more wars that cause many lives to be lost and countries thinking it can solve all of the problems. Another example, from the play, is when the Capulets and Montagues are fighting with each other. "I do but keep the peace. Put up thy sword, or manage it to part these men with me." - Benvolio. Benvolio is trying to stop all of the fighting, but they keep fighting anyways. Violence is not the answer. It could lead to more violence and people being hurt. Others will think it's okay to be violent, but really it's not.
ReplyDelete"Luck" is a figment of someone's imagination; there is no such thing as luck. Some people may not believe in luck, but others say that luck has saved their lives. I have many personal instances when luck has protected me from something painful. There are people out there that might say that luck is just something you think saved you but never really happened. Only you know if you believe in luck and I very much think luck exists everywhere. I'm sure there are many accounts when people say the only reason they believe they are alive is because of luck. I bet you can't go through two weeks without saying, "Im lucky." Luck is much more than imagination, it may give people courage or hope to do something. I think luck exists everywhere.
ReplyDeleteLove at first sight is possible. I don't agree one bit with this. You can fall in love with someones looks but you can't fully fall in love with someone until you've met them and have talked to them. Basically, if you say you fell in love at first site, it means you're falling in love with how they look and not who they actually are. Lets use a celebrity for an example, people fall in love with how they look all the time but they don't actually get to know them. They could be really pretty but have an ugly personality. So no, you can't fall in love at first site
ReplyDeleteSuicide is never a reasonable option. Yea, you might feel depressed or sad but there is always something to fix it. The number one reason you should never commit suicide is because sometimes you could have been wrong about something and by the time you killed yourself it's far too late to fix it. You can't even take it back. There is no re-spawn button in life. You don't get a do-over. In real life think of the kids that started firing weapons causing school shootings. The two most well-known school shootings, Sandy Hook and Columbine, the shooters committed suicide after doing what they had done. The number was reason kids cause school shootings is because they get bullied and if they wouldn't have killed themselves they could have gotten help from being bullied and maybe could have started a group to help kids who get bullied. Instead, they killed themselves so they wouldn't have to put up with anymore of it or suffering the consequences. In the play Romeo had drunk the poison and he was wrong about Juliet's "death" she was actually still alive but then by the time he had died it was too late to take back what he had done. These examples show that you shouldn't kill yourself because you can make a mistake and never, ever get to fix it because you are dead and gone. Yes these examples support my opinion of suicide is never a reasonable option.
ReplyDeleteBenjamin B.
ReplyDeleteIs there times when secrets must be told? I think that secrets are not ment yo be told but if it is in the hands of life or death than yes. Secrets are never post to be told but for example if someone is held hostage and the criminal needs some sort of code and if you tell the criminal the code then then the criminal won't hurt the citizen. That is why I think that some secrets must boe told. Example from the play was when Juliet drank the potion no won knew that she was not actually dead, And because of that Romeo did die form that out come, then Juliet did because of Romeo being dead. Example from real live would be from some of the bank robberies that happen here and there. Must likely one of the robbers will tell the workers to open the vault, and it the secret of the code would be released but the worker told the robber the code. Each example that I gave had either death and life just like my reason said. With Romeo and Juliet's secret ended up in death and the one with the bank ended up with living because the worker told the robber the code
Suicide is never a reasonable option. I strongly agree with this statement because I think that no one should commit suicide just because you are going through a rough patch, even if it's really bad or out of control I still think you should not commit it. If someones thinking about committing it then I think that they should try to talk to someone and to try to get help that they need. I think Suicide never solves anything, I think it just causes people pain and greif. Peoples parents of the people who commit suicide probably feel regret too because they probably think it's their falt there child had committed suicide and they most likely have a lot of pain and grief. I just think that suicide is never the right decision to make. It hurts people.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with, "there are times when secrets must be told." All secrets are told at one point or another. If somebody was keeping a secret that could harm somebody else's life, they should tell someone that secret. In Romeo and Juliet, they were both keeping secrets from their families about what was happening between them. The people who did know, tried to help them be together. They ended up dying, because they didn't want to tell anybody about each other. Maybe if they told their families, they might have been okay with it. Their secrets ended up being told, after they had both died. Their secrets were still told, even though it was too late for them.
ReplyDeleteSilence can get people hurt, in trouble, or even killed. Secrets can be dangerous at times when kept. If your friend told you who they like then obviously you should keep that a secret because they could get embarrassed if people found out and you could lose their trust. If your friend tells you they are thinking of killing themself then this a problem and you need to tell someone because they could be hurt. They may be upset at first but later they will thank you later when they realize what they were thinking was a bad idea. A real life example is Joe Paterno at Penn State. He thought it would be better for him, the football program, and the University if he kept the sexual assault cases of assistant coach Jerry Sandusky a secret. When people found out it came back to him and he got in trouble for keeping the secret. He lost all of accolades, job, and respect from others. An example from Romeo and Juliet is Romeo, Juliet, Nurse, and Friar kept Romeo and Juliet's marriage a secret. Romeo and Juliet ended up dead while Nurse and Friar got in big trouble. No good comes from secrets that could get people hurt. Think about the outcomes when you decide not to tell someone something.
ReplyDeleteSuicide is never a reasonable option. I strongly agree that suicide should never be a reasonable option, because why would you even want to think about suicide before you had a choice. Whenever suicide is brought into a situation the person making that decision will have a harder time thinking about their own actions. For example Juliet wanted to commit suicide because she never thought she would see Romeo again. So suicide doesn't fix problems it makes problems worst for people,.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with "You are the pilot of your own life. There is no greater force determming your outcome. You determine your own outcome." because no body makes you do anything. You choose your outcomes. No one physically takes over your body and makes you do something but they can tell you to do something if your not doing the right thing. You make the decions that make your outcome. For example if i were to not study for a test I would fail it. No one made me not study. It was my fault that i failed. In Romeo and Juliet they think the stars hold their future and fate which is not true. When Romeo was told that Juliet was dead he said I defy you stars because he thought they did it. You make choices that have conqences nobody decides your future.
ReplyDelete"You are the pilot of your own life. There in no greater force determining your outcome. You determine your own outcome." After reading this statement I believe it is absolutely correct. So many times people blame others or blame their upbringing for their actions. For example, there are cases where some children have a very rough upbringing (abused/ neglected) and end up becoming great parents or role models for their own kids. The reason for this is they don 't want their kids to have the same lifestyle they had and because of this they are being the "pilot" of their own life. In the play Juliet always felt she was supposed to do whatever her mother and father told her to do. This is the right thing to do to an extent. Once Lord Capulet tries telling her who she has to marry this is totally crossing the line. Juliet ,however, ends up being the "pilot" of her own life and ends up going against her parents wishes and marries Romeo. In the first example it shows the parent is being the "pilot of there own life" by overcoming how they were raised and raising their kids they way they had dreamed there parents would have raised them in the first place. In the second example Juliet is the "pilot" of her own life by doing her own thing and marrying who she wanted against her parents wishes.
ReplyDeleteThis is my paragraph & I'm done
ReplyDeleteThere are times when secrets must be told. I agree with this statement, because silence is a very dangerous thing. For example, in real life if a teenager is pregnant and they are scared to tell their parents, one of her friends needs too. If her parents aren't told the baby could be injured or the daughter could be for not telling her parents. Secrets must be told in some cases, if someone may get hurt. In Romeo and Juliet, if they would have told their parents neither one of them would have had to die. Their parents would have been accepting just like they were in the end. Neither Romeo nor Juliet would have killed themselves because they could have been together. The real life example shows that someone can get hurt if secrets aren't told. The second example shows that people are accepting and understanding of other people's secrets and no one needed to be killed. Not all secrets need to be told but if it can hurt someone, it needs to be told.
ReplyDelete"You are the pilot of your own life." I strongly agree with this. Nobody is stopping you from anything besides yourself. You should never blame the outcome of your life on somebody else. It will never be anyone else's fault what you choose to do. If you want something bad enough, you will go for it. And if you dont, you wont go for it and you'll end up blaming someone else for the chances you never took. Juliet knew if she didnt take control of her life she would end up married to a man she never wanted to be with. If she wouldnt have piloted her own life, she would probably be married to Paris living unhappily.
ReplyDeleteViolence can solve problems? I think not. Or no it can't in R and J. With this case the violence and everything that took place caused Romeo and Juliet to die. The feud that had been going on between the families had caused multiple acts of violence to occur and in which lives had been taken in the feud and at the end of it. So no. Not necessarily anyway but in some cases yes.
ReplyDeleteViolence can solve problems. I agree with this strongly because the U.S.A have been in a number of wars and they have been solved with violence if we tried to solve a war with out violence it wouldn't work that well. For example right now we are in Afganistan fighting to protect America from the bad people over there and in all the other wars we solved the problems with violence. In Romeo and Juliet there families were having problems and they killed there selves which solved the family problems that they were having. And thats why I think violence can solve problems.
ReplyDelete"Love at first sight is possible." I strongly disagree because you can't actually love someone you don't know. For example a lot of girls think they have love a first sight with Justin Bieber. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo meets Juliet at a Capulet ball and he falls in love her as soon as he sees her and she does the same with him. They fell in love just by the way they looked and that's not love, love is where you actually get to know the person and know they're like. Girls did that with Justin Bieber too but then it turned out he isn't such a good person as they thought he was.
ReplyDelete"Your parents should have the final say in whom you date" I believe it should be your choice in who you date or marry because your stuck with them not your parents. If you want to date a person who doesn't have the same race, religion, or the same back ground as you I think you should be able to. Plus you know what you like in a person and you have a lot of options so it should be your choice to decide who you'd like to be with or marry not your parents. Juliet did the right thing by marring Romeo because she loved him.
ReplyDeleteViolence can solve problems. I hink that violence can solve problems in most cases. like if i were being bullied by zach cornell and i punched him in the head he will probably consider bullying some one else. or when the montagues and the capulets were fighting and the stopped when both of there kids died. Each of these example show how violence solved problems sure not in good ways but they stopped
ReplyDeleteYou are the pilot of your own life. There is no greater force determining your outcome. You determine your own outcome. I strongly agree with this statement because everyone controls the outcome of their own life. Obstacles might get in the way of what you want or you might get caught up in other things, but ultimately, you choose who you are going to be and where you are going to take yourself. This happens every year in real life. High schoolers decide what they want to do with their life and who they want to be. They eventually get to where they want to go, whether they stuck with their original plan or they changed it part-way through. This happened in the play because both Romeo and Juliet wouldn't accept that they couldn't be together without being in danger. That eventually left both of them dead in the Capulet tomb. They each chose their outcome because they didn't look at any other options other than killing themselves after they each thought the other one was dead. They both decided that they were going to be together alive or dead and so one of them had to kill themselves after the other one was dead so that they could maybe be together in heaven. They each chose the outcome of dying and that is exactly what they got.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with the statement that long term neighborhood feuds can be solved. Because most things can be worked out, by talking through things. In most case things are just a big misunderstanding. In a real live example that i have experienced is our neighbors chickens would always get out and come over too our yard. Well this was a problem because they would come over and eat our food we planted. We left them countless phone calls because they were very rude. Endless too say we went over there on day and he said sorry for being rude because his wife passes that day. We told him about the phone calls and he said his answering machine wasn't working. It was HUGE misunderstanding. In Romeo and Juliet the families resolved their conflict because it came down to the losing of someone on both sides.
ReplyDeleteSome secrets are best kept, I strongly disagree with this statement. All secrets should be told because they snowball and become bigger then you inted. You should tell some one, expecialy if you have to lie to cover up your first lie. Romeo and Juliet have to lie a lot to cover up their secret marriage and it leads to many more issues and deaths. When you lie to cover something up it causes you to not act like yourself and you can hurt people.Keeping secrets is dangerous and it should be avoided.
ReplyDeleteIt may be hard to get through some times in life, but no matter how hard it gets, suicide is never a reasonable option. If you take your own life, yours won't be the only one that's affected. It'll affect many people around you. We had a pastor at our church once who had a brother who attempted suicide. He fortunately failed, and lived to tell others why suicide is a dumb decision. He later attempted again, but again failed. If he had succeeded, the people who he'd talked to might've thought it was okay. And it could snowball from there. In Romeo & Juliet, Romeo's mother died from grief of Romeo being banished. If she hadn't, she'd certainly die from the grief of her son committing suicide. Also, Juliet actually DID take her own life because Romeo did. Know that suicide is never a reasonable option. It'll take an obvious toll on your life, and both emotional and physical toll on others. You just have to push on knowing that when you're in a low time, it can only go up from there.
ReplyDeleteSome secrets are best to be kept, I someone disagree with this statement. Most secrets should be told depending on what the situation is. If you tell the truth the first time it comes around, you wont have to lie and try to think of something every time something comes around. In Romeo and Juliet, they have to keep secrets from family and friends. This leads to plenty deaths and just adds more complications to the family feud. Every time someone lies to hid something, you can generally tell when they are lying because they never act like themselves. You can always tell something is wrong. This is why secrets should be told depending on the situation.
ReplyDeleteI strongly disagree with the statement that "love at first sight exists." This is because though I have seen many boys who I consider cute, I have never truly fallen in love with them. I know this because I have been in love before with someone I had known for a very long time. Though Romeo and Juliet seem to be very in love, I believe the only reason they act in the way they do is because of infatuation. For heaven's sake, Romeo was "in love" with Rosaline just seconds before he caught a glimpse of Juliet. Another theme that ties into the theme of love at first sight is "teenage love is real love." I only slightly agree with that statement because of the experiences I've had. I do believe that teenage love can be real love, but only if you have known the person and have dated them for a while. Some people meet the person they are going to marry in high school. However, in Romeo and Juliet's situation, teenage love is NOT true love. As I have stated previously, they are simply in the stage of infatuation where you see a person you are attracted to, due to their looks or what you've HEARD about them. I think that is a situational statement and that the word "love" should not be thrown around so loosely.
