"The Scarlet Ibis" Expectations

Expectations are those things we believe a person is capable of doing or becoming. We will be reading a story in which every person has different expectations for the younger child, William Armstrong, since he is a special person. Think about your parents, siblings, friends, teachers, and coaches.  What are their expectations of you? How do you feel about those expectations? What are your expectations of others (ex: siblings, friends, others in society)? Are they reasonable? Blog about these questions as well as your thoughts on expectations.

Quotations: The Value of Life

Choose one of the four quotations below to focus on in your blog.  First, type in the quotation you've chosen & discuss what the quotation means.  Then, discuss how it relates to your values and/or your life.  Next, discuss how it connects to something you've read (a story, poem, fiction or nonfiction novel, or play) or something you've seen (a tv episode, a movie, a tv news segment, etc...)  Finally end with your thoughts on this quotation and the theme "value of life."
